Osram lightsystems were chosen to find a new way of decently lighting up the wallpaintings in the vatican Museum. I had the pleasure to spend some off hours in these amazing rooms, to follow some light-tests.
The four rooms known as the Stanze of Raphael formed part of the apartment situated on the second floor of the Pontifical Palace. The pictorial decoration was executed by Raphael and his school between 1508 and 1524.
